About the Author

Bruce Sargent built a sixteen foot yurt-home, with wood stove and recycled coverings for less than $1000 and “wintered over” in it. He experienced freeing and life sustaining aspects of ultra simple, yurt-living. He was profoundly moved by his life becoming embedded in nature. His design required few wood-working skills to complete and the design that he chose, (or did it choose him), was the simplest most direct version of a yurt-home possible.

He has also built an ultra simple twelve foot yurt at SpiritHollow.org with the help of students.

When not working on yurts and dreaming of yurt communities, Bruce Sargent enjoys film, dance, hiking, tracking, gardening, companionship, the sands of the Sonora and the waters of Vermont both of which sparkle in sunlight and remind him of the sparkles in his own heart.
